Can I put an Engine Motor other than the same year/make/model that is in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cheokee?

Need to replace my engine motor. It is a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Output V8 4.7L Motor and I was wondering if there were other engines that are compatible or if I have to find that exact one to replace. I am having a really hard time finding a used motor. It must be replaced.

For that generation, the following engines were available:
4.0 L PowerTech I6
4.7 L PowerTech V8
4.7 L H.O. PowerTech V8
3.1 L 531 OHV I5
2.7 L OM647 I5
However, some may have different motor mounts or different transmissions. If you can find the standard 4.7L Powertech (not the high-output version), it should bolt right up -- the HO version is usually just a more aggressive camshaft and better intake/exhaust.
