center of gravity question?

ook i remember in high school a teacher performed some kind of experiment with a chair. both male and female had to lift a chair, but the trick was that girls were able to lift it and guys werent able to. i guess it was because womens center of gravity was at their hips and mens were at their shoulders.

but my question is if anybody knows how this experiment works and how you are supposed to be positioned when doing it?
